Guest Experiences: Ways to Wow your wedding guests

When planning for your wedding or event, one key element to consider is how you want your wedding guests to feel and experience your ceremony. Catering to the senses of your guests is a great way to keep your guests talking about that dinner party you had last summer at the top of their memory. When considering you guest experience, think about the various ways you can cater to the following senses: smell, taste, sight, sound, touch, sight and most importantly connection. Whether it’s a corporate event, brand activation, birthday party or baby shower, here are some ways to incorporate these elements into your next event for the ultimate guest experience:

SMELL

Consider incorporating your brand scent, or your favorite scent throughout your venue. If your company has a signature scent used at the office, bring this scent to your party as well. Depending on your budget, you can have a signature candle at the entrance of your venue for your guests to experience upon entering your venue. You can also infuse this scent throughout the venue using candles, diffusers or through your vent system.

TASTE & SOUND

At certain down times during your event such as the cocktail hour or when your guests are eating, pair sound with taste by having a saxophonist serenade your guests with your favorite tunes while they’re eating. You could also accomplish catering to this sense have having a live band or by having your DJ play some cool tunes as your guests eat. You also want to make sure that the music isn’t overbearing that your guests find it difficult to have conversations during the meal. Speaking of meals, treat your guests with foods that are tasteful, comforting or that pique their curiosity in taste and appearance.

TOUCH & VISUALS

Several ways to feed your guests sense of touch and smell include having a pretty backdrop decorated with beautiful flowers, creating a captivating seating chart that welcomes your guest to your event, a welcome sign that greets your guests upon arrival and informs them about what to expect during your event. You can also have a show-stopping bar moment decorating your bar as a way to invite your guests to refresh themselves. If you choose to have place settings, use materials such as velvet that are warm and inviting to touch, or visually appealing to your guests.

CONNECTION

It is important that your guests leave your event feeling welcomed, liked they belonged and that they were a part of something special. You can do this by personalizing their place settings, taking a moment to greet each guest and thank them for coming, inviting them through games to connect with other people, sending them home with favors, providing them a way to leave you a message or voice note through a phone and having interactive entertainment such as a calligrapher, a painter or a caricaturist at your event. Photo booths and 360 studios are also fun elements to incorporate into your overall guest experience.

Providing an immersive experience for your guests is a way to ensure that you and you guests enjoy a fun and memorable event.
